Clinic locations: Ohio and Texas
Before joining Lice Clinics of America I already had many years of experience as a senior executive on the franchisor side of the business as well as many years as a multi-unit owner franchisee in health, wellness, beauty and technology franchise systems.
I was introduced to Lice Clinics of America by my daughter, who went to an LCA clinic when her twins got head lice while on vacation. She was so impressed with the experience, including the technology used to cure their head lice in a single 1-hour treatment, that she insisted I take a look at the organization and assess the opportunity. She had worked for me in the past in the beauty and salon industry, and was intrigued by the idea of combining the soothing atmosphere of a salon with a “medical” clinic. More importantly, she liked the ability to do something really good for moms and kids.
Fast forward to today, five years later, and I currently own three operating clinics and have purchased the territories to open four more. During the past five years I have also developed and sold three additional clinics to other LCA owners who wanted to expand. My daughter is my partner and manager. I stay involved as an investor, overseeing certain financial performance metrics, but leave the marketing and operations in her very capable hands.
When doing my due diligence on any franchise opportunity I investigate, it comes down to three things I look for:
In addition to the good we are doing for families and kids, an additional benefit I have gotten out of this franchise is watching how quickly LCA has grown and developed into a sophisticated franchise system that provides world-class tools and support to their franchisees. I have been heavily involved in working with the corporate office on the franchisee Advisory Board and Executive Committee, and it has been very rewarding for me professionally.

When doing my due diligence on any franchise opportunity I investigate, it comes down to three things I look for:
- a business that adds value to the human experience with a culture of caring
- an industry that is underdeveloped and on the forefront of change
- a product or service that solves a real problem and can be scaled as a profitable business
When I am asked by my colleagues in the beauty industry why I am in the lice-treatment business I tell them “it’s simple–Lice Clinics of America checks all the boxes.”
