I took early retirement and left my senior executive position at a large B to C focused company but knew I was not ready to stop working altogether. I engaged a business broker to find my next opportunity and two established and successful Lice Clinics of America locations were available for me to purchase directly from the original franchisee. Unfortunately, I acquired these two clinics in January 2020, right before the pandemic hit, and my first two years were a challenge while we waited for life to get back to normal. However, it turned out to be a very meaningful learning experience – lice are not going away – and even COVID 19 was no match for them. They have been around for thousands of years. As we potentially may face a recession in the coming months, I am confident we will still do well.

My attraction to the business was almost immediate and I absolutely love it still to this day. The public health aspect, servicing primarily moms and daughters, helping my local community and making a real difference in people’s lives all add up to a very satisfying “second career” choice. My research and now my personal experience have both proven out that what we do is provide peace of mind and we save time. Both of those things are in short supply in every family, and particularly for moms. I have twins and I know that firsthand!
