Please arrive and have with all patient’s hair washed, dried and detangled. Any previous treatments done at home must be washed out prior to appointment time. It is also suggested that patients wear shirts they can potentially get dirty. Patients will wear a salon cape when having a treatment.
Clean dry hair is needed to perform the treatment. DO NOT come in with wet hair or apply any products to the hair.
Brush or comb hair free of tangles. This reduces the amount of time and saves you money.
We will provide several safe and effective ways to clean your home and minimize the chance of re-infestation.
We need to check all immediate family members to reduce the risk of re-infestation and to activate your 30-day re-treatment policy. Also, bring a snack, treatments take approximately 1½ hours.
To avoid cross contamination in the home (which the CDC ranks the #1 source of lice) ALL females and ALL children in the household must be checked for lice and nits to receive the 30-day guarantee (even boys with short/buzzed hair). Lice can live on 1/8 inch of hair. Dad does not need to be checked for the guarantee UNLESS his hair is below the ears or if his spouse is positive. If an individual is positive, they must be treated to receive the guarantee. All family members must be seen within 24 hours for guarantee to apply.
We offer $12 recheck head checks within 30 days of receiving a treatment or head check. Though not required, many opt to book these during the 30-day period for peace of mind. We recommend booking at least 7-10 days after the initial treatment.
Should you need to reschedule, please call (2) hours prior to your appointment time to avoid a $50 cancellation/no-show fee. If your appointment is before 10:30 a.m. Monday – Friday, you must call during business hours the previous day. If your appointment is before noon on Saturday or Sunday, you must call during business hours the previous day. Rescheduling and/or cancellations must be done via phone with a scheduler during business hours. We are unable to accept cancellations/reschedules via text or email.
If you are 30 minutes or more past your scheduled appointment time, a no-show fee of $50 will be charged and you will need to reschedule. If the credit card on file does not process the no-show balance, it will need to be paid prior to the next booking. Please call to reschedule and take care of the balance due.
Payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash and credit card. Checks are not accepted. Head checks are $25 per person. If positive, the head check fee is waived and only the treatment fee is charged. If a head check is negative, the cost is $25 for that check. Treatments typically take up to an hour and 15 minutes and cost $187. However, if hair is thick, has a severe infestation, or is waist length, treatment can take up to 2 hours and have an additional $25 surcharge on top of our treatment or head check fee.
We do accept CareCredit as a payment plan. If you would like more information on how to apply, give us a call. If you plan to use CareCredit at your appointment, please contact us prior to your appointment to let us know. Services will be charged at the beginning of your appointment due to limited availability of funds on these cards.
We accept HSA’s, Health Savings Accounts, and FSA’s. Flex Spending Accounts for payment. Services will be charged at the beginning of your appointment due to limited availability of funds on these cards. We also provide a health insurance claim for potential reimbursement. Depending on your plan and your carrier, your insurance company could send you a reimbursement or apply towards your deductible.
Medicaid does not cover treatment costs, instead, Lice Clinics of America provides a discounted rate. If you are a Medicaid card holder, the Medicaid ID number must be presented at the time of the appointment to receive the discounted rate. If it is not presented, we are unable to provide the discounted rate.
If you head check positive, we will waive the head check fee and just charge the treatment fee. If you should head check negative (yea!) you will be charged the head check fee and are encourage to receive an oil application that will keep you safe as you go home to clean your house. We also do offer prevention sprays, oils, shampoos and conditioners to help prevent lice going forward. Please inquire with your technician at the appointment!
We offer a low-cost option for Lice Insurance! If your family qualifies for the guarantee, you can purchase a plan for as low as $10 a month and receive up to 12 head checks a year and 2 free treatments (value $670). Visit with our staff at your appointment about this savings plan! Unfortunately, lice can be prevalent during school age years and our plans help you avoid large, unexpected treatment costs.
